Anonymous Society

Anonymous Society was a collective performance group founded by Perrin and Andrew Wale. The intention of the work is to build bridges between the musical, physical and acting impulses of the performers to allow a more integral and wholistic expression and a more flexible way of story telling. Anonymous Society was premiered in Temse Belgium in 1998, and re-vamped for the 1999 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it won both a Fringe First and the Total Theater Award for Best Production. For it’s subsequent run at the Lyric Hammersmith Theater in London, it won the Barclay Theatre Awards, Best Musical 2000 prize. Their follow up production, Some Girls are Bigger than Others, premiered at the Lyric Hammersmith in 2005, later touring the UK. Both pieces were conceived by Allen and Wale in collaboration with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.
